摘要	辽宁安平中更新世动物群中Dicerorhinus kirchbergensis 、D. choukoutienensis 和D. mercki 属同种异名。遵循<<国际动物命名法规>>，应以Dicerorhinus kirchbergensis (Jager, 1839)为规范种名；该种与Coelodonta antiquitatis 在头状骨、掌骨、跟骨、骰骨和蹠骨上的差异显著；从其颊齿形态功能和伴生动物群生态习性分析可知，D. kirchbergensis是温暖湿润环境中林栖或林缘栖的大型双角犀类，以食柔嫩植物为主；它的地史分布与欧洲同名种的基本一致，即从早更新世晚期到晚更新世晚期，绝对年龄约从130万年前到1万年前。RdDicerorhinus kirchbergensis, Dicerorhinus mercki, and Dicerorhinus choukoutienensis are here considered as synonymous. Without exception of nomen conservandun and nomem oblitum, Dicerorhinus kirchbergensis has priority over the others, according to "International Code of Zoological Nomenclature" (1961). Dicerorhinus kirchbergensis can be distinguished from other Quaternary Rhinoceroses byits larger size and longer and thinner limb bones. Notable differences between D. kirchbergensis and Coelodonta antiquitatis have been observed in the structure of foot bones: magnums, metacarpals, calcanea, cuboids and metatarsals. In China, D. kirchbergensis has been found from late Early Pleistocene or early Middle Pleistocene at Gongwangling in Shaanxi (Hu, C. K. & Qi, T., 1979), perhaps from Xihoudu Culture (Chia, L. P. & Wang, C., 1978) as well, to late Late Pleistocene at Xiaogushun in Liaoning (Zhang Z. H. et al., 1985). Its chronologic range convers from about 1.3 my to 0.01 my BP. Ecologically, cheek teeth of Quaternary rhinoceroses can be divided into three morphological types, that is, browsing type (D. kirchbergensis), grinding type (C. antiquitatis) and transitive type (D. hemitoechus). Based on the morpho-functional analysis of D. kirchbergensis and the ecotype of its associating fauna, it is inferred that D. kirchbergensis was probably an agile large rhinoceros feeding chiefly on tender leaves and twigs in forest or marginal forest of warm and humid climate region.
