摘要We present an integrated geochronological-magnetostratigraphic framework for the Yixian Formation in the Shimen section, Pingquan Basin, northern Hebei Province, a key Jehol Biota-bearing succession. Rock magnetic investigations reveal that remanence carriers in the lower Yixian Formation are dominated by magnetite and hexagonal pyrrhotite, whereas those in the upper part are primarily magnetite. Zircon U-Pb dating of two tuff and tuffaceous sandstone intercalated layers yields weighted mean Pb-206/U-238 ages of 124.5 +/- 1.8 Ma and 126.9 +/- 1.4 Ma, respectively. High-resolution magnetostratigraphic data indicate a lower interval of reversed polarity and an overlying interval of normal polarity. Integrating the zircon U-Pb ages with the magnetostraphic results correlates the lower and upper intervals to chrons M3r and M3n of the geomagnetic polarity time scale 2020 (GPTS2020), respectively, indicating an early Barremian age for the Yixian Formation at Shimen section. These results provide constraints on the geologic and biologic events: (1) deposition of the Yixian Formation in the Pingquan Basin began no later than similar to 126 Ma, which sets the earliest presence of the Jehol Biota in this basin; and (2) the Yanshan Orogeny phase B in this area had terminated by similar to 126 Ma. The integrated chronological framework provides a robust basis for precise intra-and inter-basin correlations within the continental Lower Cretaceous of the Pingquan Basin and for correlation with global marine strata. It also offers a globally isochronous and reliable temporal framework for evaluating the spatiotemporal distribution and evolution of the Jehol Biota.
